UPDATE: Ocean View man killed in motorcycle crash

ROXANA, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a motorcycle crash that killed an Ocean View man Sunday afternoon.

At around 2:45 p.m., police say a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 motorcycle was traveling westbound on Bayard Road, just each of Zion Church Road, when the driver reportedly failed to negotiate a moderate curve in the road. The motorcycle then veered off the roadway and traveled a short distance through a wet grassy area before flipping onto its left side. The motorcycle then re-entered the roadway, causing the driver to be partially ejected.

The driver, a 78-year-old Ocean View man, was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending notification of family and relatives.
