Laurel wins battle of the dogs
WILMINGTON, Del. – Laurel picked up their first victory of the 2023 season with a 44-19 win over Brandywine.
Laurel trailed by a touchdown late in the first quarter when the ‘Dogs turned things around. Quarterback Koby Shockley found Elijah Niblett down the sidelines, he was forced out at the opposing 1-yard line. Royce Scotton finished off the drive on the following play to start the second quarter.
Talk about a momentum shifter, on the final play before halftime Shockley found Niblett for a long score as the first half came to an end. Laurel went into the locker room ahead, 21-13.
The Bulldogs scored five unanswered touchdowns, cruising to the victory on the road.
Laurel (1-1) will host Caesar Rodney (0-1) on Friday at 7 PM.
