“It’s not just my race, it’s our race:” Salisbury City Council candidate prepares for upcoming forum
SALISBURY, Md. – It’s not a general election year, but voters will be hitting the polls in Salisbury this November. Many candidates were out at the Tawes Crab and Clam Bake Wednesday looking to connect with voters.
D’Shawn Doughty, candidate for city council District 2, said it was important for him to not just make connections within the city limits but with surrounding areas to form partnerships.
Doughty added that he’ll continue building upon the relationships he’s already made with locals to address their needs and concerns.
He also gave us a little insight on how he’s preparing for the upcoming candidate forum. “That was the biggest thing with me running—that I definitely want to hear from the people. I want to hear what they want, what they need, and how I can better help them. It’s not just my race, it’s our race because we’re in this together to make a better Salisbury for the future. I’m excited to answer the questions you all have,” Doughty said.
You’ll have the chance to hear from Doughty and the other eight candidates for Salisbury City Council soon. The Wicomico County NAACP will host their next candidate forum Saturday, October 7th.
