UPDATE: Homicide investigation underway following fatal shooting in Laurel

9/13 UPDATE: Police have identified the victim in this homicide as 26-year-old Taylor German.

LAUREL, Del. – A homicide investigation is underway following a fatal shooting Sunday night in Laurel.

Just after 9:30 p.m., officers with the Laurel Police Department responded to a reported shooting on West Sixth Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 26-year-old Laurel woman sitting inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim, a 41-year-old Millsboro man, had also been shot and was taken to a nearby hospital for life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed that an unidentified suspect or suspects fired multiple shots into a vehicle occupied by the two victims and a third person while at the entrance to Little Creek Apartments. The victims then drove to West Sixth Street, where they contacted police and received medical attention.
