First responders clock in on Labor Day

MARYLAND. – While many of us celebrated Labor Day at home, first responders across the Eastern Shore clocked in to serve their communities.

47ABC checked in with local first responders to see if working holidays is any different, and officer Evan Gaba with Fruitland police said it’s really not, and they’re there to help on any day.

“Working as a first responder, you don’t think about it too much. It’s second nature, you come to work, and you have a job to do, and you get it done,” Officer Gaba said. “You don’t think about coming in on Labor Day; I’m coming in on Christmas, Thanksgiving– I’m coming in here. It’s my second family.”

First responders tell 47ABC they’re always willing to help keep the community safe.
