Disturbance at Dewey Beach bar leads to arrest of OC man
DEWEY BEACH, Del. – An Ocean City man was arrested following a disturbance at a Dewey Beach bar Saturday night.
At around 10 p.m., troopers were called to The Starboard for a report of a disorderly subject. A trooper reportedly tried to assist Starboard employees in removing the disorderly person, but he refused to comply. The subject then allegedly pulled out a concealed razorblade from his hooded shirt and lunged at the trooper, continuing to refuse verbal commands to comply.
The subject, identified as 37-year-old Matthew Slentz, was taken into custody after being tased. Police recovered the razorblade and a concealed spring-loaded switchblade knife. No one was injured.
Slentz was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing, two counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and disorderly conduct. He was held at SCI on a $22,050 secured bond.
