EASTERN SHORE, Md. – Diakonia is asking for food and supplies donations, as we begin heading into the fall months. Diakonia serves clients who cannot afford housing and food insecure families looking for some assistance.

Snap Benefit and Pantry Coordinator Jeron Whaley says they have already received a donation from Marisol Market Cafe in Ocean City, but any additional donations could help dozens of families on the Eastern Shore.

“Monthly, we serve about 230 households, which equals to about 700 individuals,” Whaley said. “The restaurants in our local area here in Ocean City and Berlin do an amazing job when it comes to wrapping up their end of the season, and not just their end of season, throughout their season for donating resources and food here to Diakonia.”

The food and resources donated from local restaurants and community members keeps Diakonia going on a daily basis.

If you have extra food supplies and want to donate contact Diakonia Inc. at (410)213-0923.
