Candlelight vigil to be held on the plaza

SALISBURY, Md.- Now that we’re half way through National Recovery Awareness month, St. Peters Episcopal Church in Salisbury is teaming up with third Friday on the Plaza to host a candlelight vigil.

The service is to honor all those who have passed way from drug use. The event will feature music and readings and all those who have lost a loved one are welcomed to light a candle in their memory.

Rector David Michaud said he hopes to bring the community together and raise awareness on such an important issue.

“We are hoping that people that are downtown could take a moment and participate in this,” Rector Michaud said.  “It’s open to all and if it’s something that is meaningful for you, we hope that you will be able to be part of this.”

The event will begin at 6:30 pm and Michaud added the church doesn’t discriminate, all are welcome to join.
