Cambridge Police Department adds new officer to the force
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – The Cambridge Police Department added a new member to its force.
Chief Justin Todd welcomed Officer Tyler White to the team, and together, the department is ready to hit the ground running when it comes to serving the city.
Officer White was sworn into the department Friday morning and Chief Todd is working towards expanding his police unit, by hiring more officers.
With the new officer, Chief Todd will have more flexibility to move officers throughout the bureau, wherever he needs them.
“We’re filling the open spots in our patrol division, which allows us to have more officers in criminal investigations, such as community policing divisions, the proactive community engagement unit that I added; it allows us to take officers and put them in those specialized units,” Chief Todd said.
Chief Todd added that a few more officers will be wrapping up bootcamp and will soon join the police department.
