Cambridge officials, community members rally against gun violence
CAMBRIDGE, MD. – In Cambridge, residents and leaders plan to take to the streets in the name of stopping gun violence, Saturday.
The city is partnering up with Maryland moms demand action, hosting a day of hope and healing. The idea is to bring the community together and raise awareness on gun violence in the area.
Cambridge police chief Justin Todd said this event will also put into perspective all the lives that gun violence affects.
“Gun violence is something that’s happening all over our nation, especially when it hits right at home, such as it has in Cambridge,” Chief Todd said. “Over the past several years, it not only impacts someone shot and killed- someone who goes to prison, but you have families that are left behind that have to live with the scars that gun violence has impacted on their lives.”
The rally will be held at 2:30p.m. at the Empowerment Center.
