Annual renaissance faire making return to Furnace Town this weekend

SNOW HILL, Md. – It’s a celebration of medieval flare and culture as Furnace Town Historic Site’s third annual Renaissance Faire makes its return this weekend.

It’s held on the 28 acres of land at the Furnace Town Historic Site. Organizers said you can expect the same live music, food, games, and a variety of craft vendors.

The Eastern Shore chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism will also provide live demonstrations including hand weaving, warriors in combat, and bread making. Proceeds from the weekend will go to support the nonprofit’s future programming.

“The funds raised support staffing and the programs we offer to the community to help remember or heritage,” Executive Director Claudia Nagle said.

“These little, local faires have a great deal of value with bringing that sort of entertainment to small communities,” Event Coordinator Emril Getscher said.

The event will be Saturday, September 30th, and Sunday, October 1st from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Those who plan to attend are encouraged to come in their best medieval attire.
