GEORGETOWN, Del. – La Red Health Center’s 8th annual Women’s Health Walk is slated to return this weekend.

Upwards of 35 vendors will be on site providing free health screenings and Narcan trainings. Some of those organizations include Beebe Healthcare, Bayhealth, and Delaware Technical Community College.

Organizers told us that the goal is to connect individuals to the life-saving care options right in their own backyard. “When we look at how do we make a woman healthy, remembering that includes what her family’s needs are as well as her own individual needs. The care for that has grown throughout the years as various organizations have understood the impact of really a holistic perspective for women,” La Red Health Center Deputy Director Rachel Hersh said.

The Food Bank of Delaware will also be distributing food to those in need. Bilingual La Red staff will be on-site to assist.

The walk will be held this Saturday, September 9th at Soroptimist Park in Seaford from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. The park is located at 1158 Middleford Rd. in Seaford.
