2023 High School Volleyball Preview

Volleyball season for Maryland and Delaware is right around the corner. Last year in the bayside, Queen Anne’s and North Dorchester were the top dogs of the North. The Lions finished with an impressive 16-0 overall record and North Dorchester finished 14-1. The Bayside South teams that stood out were Snow Hill and Stephen Decatur. The Eagles finished 13-3 while Decatur came in 2nd with a record of 10-7.

Meanwhile, over in the Henlopen, the top team was the Smyrna Eagles. Last season the Eagles made it all the way to the DIAA state championship game but ultimately fell to Tower Hill in a final of 3-0. The Henlopen South team that made a lot of noise last year was Indian River. The Indians went 10-5 in the regular season but would then get bounced in the first round by Smyrna. Regular seasons for both Bayside and Henlopen teams start this week and next week.
