West Men Society set to bring back annual concert tribute, marks 10th anniversary

SALISBURY, Md.- The West Men Society is set to bring back their annual Concert Tribute celebration. The nonprofit’s mission is to encourage at risk-youth to become productive citizens in society.

The event stands as one of their biggest community outreach efforts of the year. The day will include a back-to-school supply drive, talent show, slam dunk contest with cash prizes, food, and more.

Organizers also tell 47 ABC this year’s event will be special as it marks the 10-year anniversary. “We are going to give people the opportunity to sign a banner and tell us how many times they’ve attended the event. We’re also going to do something a little special that’s in the planning stages. There’s going to be a nice surprise for the 10-year celebration,” President Edward Morris said.

“Our organization is about community outreach and giving kids and avenue to explore different possibilities that they might not otherwise get.”

There will also be a musical instrument giveaway that will come with one free lesson as a way to get more youth excited about fine arts.

That event will be held at Lake Street Park on Saturday, August 19th from 11:00am-9:00pm.
