West Men Society celebrates 10th anniversary of annual Concert Tribute

SALIBSURY, Md.- The West Men Society brought back their annual Concert Tribute celebration Saturday at Lake Street Park.

The nonprofit’s mission is to encourage at risk-youth to become productive citizens in society.

The day included a school supply drive, instrument giveaway, a variety of vendors, and more.

This year marked the 10th anniversary of the concert tribute. Organizers tells us the event has evolved over the years and seen much growth, adding they want to use that as momentum to continue pushing for change in the community. “We’re a grassroots organization that just started out with people who were actually from and grew up in this community that saw a need and came together to facilitate solutions,” Vice President Broderick Nutter said.

“If there’s a need that needs to be filled in the community, that’s what we’re here for. We want to work with the community to find solutions to the problems we’re facing.”

There was also a colored smoke release, a sparkling cider toast, as well as a banner for those in attendance to sign to commemorate the 10th anniversary.
