Traffic stop leads to arrest of Pennsylvania man on drug, weapons charges

LAUREL, Del. – A Pennsylvania man is behind bars in Delaware following a traffic stop late Sunday night.

At around 10 p.m., Delaware State Police stopped a vehicle on Sussex Highway after noticing that its registration expired in October 2021. When the trooper spoke with the driver and registered owner, identified as 46-year-old Charles Riddick, it was discovered that he had a suspended driver’s license.

The trooper searched the car before it was towed from the scene, finding a loaded handgun, a set of brass knuckles, approximately .15 grams of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. It was also learned that Riddick is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms.

Riddick was subsequently arrested on numerous drug and firearm charges, as well as traffic offenses. He was held at SCI on a $31,275 cash bond.
