The Celebration of the Broadkill taking place in Milton this weekend

MILTON, Del. – The Celebration of the Broadkill event will take place this weekend in Milton.

The event kicks off at 9 a.m. in Downtown Milton this Saturday.

The Milton Chamber of Commerce tells us it’s a culmination of three separate events including the Bargains on the Broadkill festival, 24th Annual Irish Eyes River Race and the great dog race.

Nitan Soni with the Board of Directors says the event will have over 100 vendors selling everything from local goods to food.

They say they expect a big turnout.

“The event itself will draw a lot of people, but obviously we hope that kind of spreads out to the surrounding businesses so they can benefit,” Soni said. “It is also just a great opportunity to visit our downtown Milton area and being a quaint historic town.”

“A lot of the shops will be open with a lot of opportunities to visit the local cafes and restaurants.”

The River Canoe and Kayak Race will begin at 10 am on Saturday.
All people who want to participate in the race can sign up the day before on the Irish Eyes Restaurant and Pub website.
