Somerset Co. campground store heavily damaged by fire

WESTOVER, Md. – A Somerset County campground store was heavily damaged after a fire broke out Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the Lake Somerset Family Campground at around 4:30 p.m. for a reported fire in the campground store. Crews battled the blaze for approximately 90 minutes before it was brought under control.

Further investigation by state fire marshals revealed that the fire was caused by an electrical failure. Total fire damage has been estimated at $200,000.
