Second suspect charged in connection to recent burglaries, thefts in Laurel
LAUREL, Del. – Police have charged a second suspect in connection to a series of thefts and burglaries in the Laurel area.
During the early morning hours of July 13th, troopers responded to several residences on Chipmans Chase Drive and Fire Tower Road for reported thefts from cars and garage burglaries that took place overnight. Troopers learned that two suspects had trespassed on six different properties, stealing belongings from eight different victims, including a wallet, several debit and credit cards, a BB gun, video cameras, and a bicycle.
Last week, the first suspect, identified as 18-year-old Ryan Howell, was arrested and charged in connection to these thefts.
On Wednesday, troopers identified the second suspect as 20-year-old Damien Bozman, who was already in the custody of the Department of Corrections at the Sussex County Violation of Probation Center. He was subsequently charged with two counts of third degree burglary, attempted theft under $1500 where the victim is 62 years of age or older, two counts of second degree conspiracy, three counts of third degree conspiracy, five counts of theft under $1500, two counts of criminal mischief, and three counts of third degree criminal trespass.
Bozman was released on his own recognizance on these charges but remains in custody on unrelated charges.
