SCPS updating their mobile app for parents and students

SOMERSET COUNTY, Md. – Somerset County Public Schools are adding a new feature called “rooms” to their mobile app for the upcoming school year.

Rooms is a secure login inside the Somerset County Public Schools mobile app, which is available for download on the google play and apple apps stores.

Victoria Miele with Somerset County Public Schools says the app is as easy to use as Facebook.

“They can login and see every single one of their students and message directly with their teachers, can see if the teachers have assignments that are due, they can remind their students and say hey this is coming up and due, I was just talking with your teacher.”

Not only will parents be able to get school information including news events and what is going on, but also they can see every one of the students and directly message teachers.

“Parents can securely access all of their students classes through their classroom feeds,” Miele said. “So, Somerset County School teachers are going to be trained on how to use this coming up before school starts.”

Unlike previous years for primary education and secondary education students, the updated Somerset County Public Schools mobile app is now a “One stop shop” for parents to find everything posted on the website and social media.
