Pair arrested in Easton homicide

1280 Easton Homicide

EASTON, Md. – Two men are behind bars on murder charges following a recent homicide investigation in Talbot County.

During the evening hours of August 7th, officers with the Easton Police Department responded to the area of 104 Blake Street for a person who had just been shot and was laying in the grass. Officers rendered aid to the victim until paramedics arrived, but the victim, 55-year-old Ty Brooks, died as a result of his injuries at the scene.

It was learned that earlier in the day, Brooks had gotten into an argument with individuals nearby, who were operating a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover, parked in the area of the 100 block of Blake Street. Brooks left the area in a vehicle, later returning operating an ATV and confronted the same individuals with a shotgun. After words were said, police say 22-year-old Daseir Cornish, who was seated in the driver seat of the Range Rover, fired shots through the front passenger seat window and hit Brooks on his side. After he was shot, Brooks fell off the ATV, and the Range Rover fled the scene, accompanied by a gray Hyundai sedan.

Investigation revealed that Cornish disposed of the Range Rover in a parking lot in the 8900 block of Glebe Park Drive. 27-year-old Raheem Green was driving the gray Hyundai, and assisted Cornish in abandoning the vehicle and fleeing the area.

The pair were arrested on Thursday in connection to the incident. Cornish was charged with first degree murder, first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, reckless endangerment from a motor vehicle, and firearm use in a violent crime. Green was charged with accessory after the fact: first and second degree murder.
