New finalized agreements for Worcester County public schools
WORCESTER COUNTY.- the Worcester County board of education finalized agreements with employee associations at the board of education meeting, Tuesday.
One of the agreements was a salary increase that will go into effect this academic school year, beginning in September.
Dr. Dwayne Abt, the assistant superintendent of operations for Worcester County public schools, said the district was able to push for the increase by working with county council, and the teachers’ association.
“Although folks on the outside may think it’s a contentious process, we really have a great relationship, where we do a collaborative negotiation, and we certainly can get a lot further doing it collaboratively, than budding heads on it,” Dr. Abt said.
