Man arrested on gun charges following officer involved shooting
Lincoln, De- A Delaware State Trooper fired a single shot at an armed man after responding to a domestic dispute on Sunday evening.
On August 6th at approximately 8 p.m. state troopers responded to an address on Johnson Road in Lincoln for a call of a domestic dispute involving 49 year old Kenneth Fisher, who witnesses say was armed with a handgun.
Fisher fled the scene on foot as troopers arrived.
Police eventually caught up with Fisher and commanded him to stop and show his hands. Fisher reached into his waistband, prompting a trooper to fire a single shot that missed.
Fisher then threw down his gun and surrendered.
He was taken into custody and his weapon was recovered.
A home was struck by the bullet that was fired, but there were no injuries.
Fisher has been charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, felony carrying of a concealed weapon, and resisting arrest.
He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $21,000 cash bond.
Per Delaware State Police protocol, the trooper who fired the round has been placed on administrative leave and an investigation will be conducted regarding the use of force.
