Greensboro pole barn destroyed in weekend fire

GREENSBORO, Md. – A fire that destroyed a pole barn in Caroline County early Saturday morning is under investigation.

Firefighters responded to the Better Days Farm just after 7 a.m. for a reported fire. Officials say the majority of the blaze was self-extinguished before crews arrived at the scene, and the remainder was controlled in 15 minutes. It was learned that the owner discovered the fire when he arrived at the property that morning and that it broke out sometime between the hours of 7:45 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday. The fire reportedly burned unnoticed and uninhabited during this time.

The origin and cause remain under investigation. Total damage has been estimated at $150,000.
