Free lunch to be offered at nine Worcester Co. schools next year
WORCESTER CO., Md. – Nine schools in Worcester County will offer free meals to students this upcoming school year.
The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) will allow all students at these schools to access nutritious meals at no cost. This federal program allows qualifying schools to serve free meals to students without the hassle of completing free and reduced meal applications. Although these applications are no longer required, every student at an eligible school is asked to complete an Alternative Income Eligibility form every school year.
The nine schools certified for CEP are:
- Pocomoke Elementary, Middle, and High Schools
- Snow Hill Elementary, Middle, and High Schools
- Cedar Chapel Special School
- Buckingham Elementary School
- Berlin Intermediate School
For schools not currently certified in the program, a review of eligibility criteria will be conducted annually throughout the four-year CEP cycle.
