Crash injures two people in Lewes

LEWES, Del. – Two people were left injured after a crash occurred in Lewes yesterday.

During the evening hours, a 27-year-old man was driving a white 2021 Chevrolet pickup truck northbound on Coastal Highway. As he turned into the parking lot of Midway Center on Coastal Highway, he hit two pedestrians walking.

The victims were a 71-year-old woman and a 75-year-old man.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries while the man was flown to a trauma center for serious injuries.

His status is unknown at this time. The driver was not injured and was cited for inattentive driving.
