Attempted robbery at Felton gas station under investigation

FELTON, Del. – An attempted robbery at a Felton gas station is under investigation.

Shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday, police say an unknown male suspect walked into the Shore Stop at 8953 S. Dupont Highway with a shirt wrapped around his head. The suspect approached the store clerk from behind the counter, pointed a knife at her, and told her to open the cash register. The clerk did not comply, at which point the suspect allegedly tried to take the entire register, but was not able to do so. The suspect then fled and was last seen running southbound, away from the business.

The victim was not injured, and nothing was stolen from Shore Stop.

The suspect is described as a man, approximately 6’0 to 6’2 tall, weighing approximately 210 to 250 pounds. Surveillance video and images are not yet available.
