UPDATE: Suspect arrested in connection to attempted robbery at Dover Royal Farms

8/14 UPDATE: Dover Police have made an arrest in connection to this attempted robbery.

31-year-old Shakeira Heir was developed as a suspect during the investigation, and on Friday, police arrested her without incident. She was charged with attempted first degree robbery, two counts of third degree assault, and disorderly conduct, and was held at the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on an $11,500 secured bail.

DOVER, Del. – Police are investigating an attempted robbery that happened Tuesday afternoon in Dover.

Officers were called to the Royal Farms located at 293 Saulsbury Road at around 2:30 p.m. for a reported fight. The fight was no longer in progress when officers arrived at the scene, but the investigation revealed that a woman had entered the business and tried to purchase tobacco products. She was unable to purchase the tobacco products, at which time she began assaulting staff at the store while trying to steal products from behind the counter.

The suspect fled the scene, and there is no additional suspect information at this time.
