Army veteran receives a new roof in Princess Anne
PRINCESS ANNE, Md.- A leaky roof led to a lasting impact for one local veteran.
Wordell Corbin, a Vietnam army veteran, said that his roof was due for a repair.
“Because it’s double wide, it’s the way they do the roof that caused it to leak, even though the roof is only 17 years old,” Corbin said.
Vice President of sales and marketing for Roof Pro, Joseph Scott, said giving back to veterans is a part of the company’s philosophy.
“To be able to give back to any veteran, in any capacity, is always a great importance,” Scott said. “They protect us; they give us the opportunity to live free and we don’t take that for granted.”
The new roof will help Corbin live a peaceful life, free from leaks, as heavy rain became an issue on the Eastern Shore this week.
“For one thing, I knew if we get through the next rainfall, I’ll be fine,” Corbin said. “By them starting today, and what they’ve accomplished in such a short time means a whole lot.”
Scott said the sense of security a new roof can bring is something all veterans deserve.
“This is the nuts and bolts of having a roof above your head, that’s going to protect you and your family and keep all of your belongings safe,” Scott said.
And now, Corbin said he’s thankful he won’t have to worry about any roofing problems for the rest of his days.
“The way I look at it, later on, this is something my daughter won’t have to worry about because when I leave, everything goes to her, so I know she’ll be happy with that,” Corbin said.
