ACLU Maryland hosts upcoming training providing education on marijuana legalization

SALISBURY, Md.- The ACLU of Maryland will host a Know Your Rights training session this weekend in Salisbury. They’re collaborating with the Fenix Youth Project on the initiative.

Attendees will learn about basic rights, how to handle police encounters, and information on cannabis legalization that began on July 1st.

The ACLU of Maryland tells us with all the new changes, it’s important that Marylanders know their rights not only protect their lives but the lives of others. “We find it extremely important here at the ACLU to constantly be engaging with the community so folks can know their rights to avoid situations where their rights get violated. If they do get violated, they’ll understand and are able to take the appropriate action to get justice,” ACLU of Maryland’s Jared Schablein said.

The event will be held this Saturday, August 26th 12:30- 2 p.m. at the Fenix Youth Project headquarters. The address is 212 West Main St. #309.

Food and drinks will also be provided.
