Shooting incident leads to attempted murder charges for Easton man
EASTON, Md. – A man is facing attempted murder and other related charges following an incident in the Easton area.
On Sunday, officers responded to the area of Lynnbrook Court for a reported carjacking and shooting. Initial investigation revealed that the suspect, later identified as 38-year-old Tehron West, and an adult victim had gotten into a verbal argument that turned into a physical altercation. West then reportedly got into one of the victim’s vehicles, pulled out a firearm, and fired multiple rounds into another vehicle that the victim had gotten into. A juvenile was also standing between both vehicles when the shots were fired,
After the shooting, West fled the scene in one of the victim’s vehicles. West was eventually stopped and detained by Virginia State Police, and it was learned that he is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms in Maryland.
An arrest warrant was obtained for West, charging him with two counts of attempted second degree murder, two counts of first degree assault, two counts of second degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment from a car, two counts of intoxicated endangerment, four firearms charges, one count of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, and one count of theft. He is currently awaiting extradition back to Talbot County.
