Service members recognized on Armed Forces Day at the Delaware State Fair
HARRINGTON, Del. – Wednesday is Armed Forces Day at the Delaware State Fair, and service members are getting a special thank you.
A valid military ID will allow you free entry into the fair for the day. We got a chance to speak with the Delaware Army National Guard, who says the day is also the perfect outreach opportunity. They also tell us that thousands make their way to the fair over a 10-day stretch it gives them a chance to connect with those who might be interested in joining.
“So the fair normally averages over 200,000 from around the eastern shore. 40 We’re looking for that engagement because we want to hire new talent and some of that talent is out here at the fair. Hopefully they stop by and we can engage with them and they hear something that excites them and gets them to join,” says Retention Specialist Trib Singh.
Service members from the Army, Marines, and more will be onsite for the remainder of the fair.
