Rabid raccoon found in Salisbury, health department says

SALISBURY, Md. – A raccoon in the Salisbury area has tested positive for rabies.

Wicomico County Health Department officials say the raccoon was in the area of Mohawk Avenue. The positive rabies result was received on Monday.

Residents are reminded to keep their pets confined, avoid all contact with wild or stray animals, and vaccinate their pets.
