Pair arrested in connection to series of thefts from vehicles in Seaford
SEAFORD, Del. – Two men have been arrested in connection to a series of thefts from vehicles in the Seaford area.
The investigation began during the early morning hours of June 7th, when troopers were called to a residence on Baker Mill Road after the homeowner discovered that someone had stolen money, credit cards, and other items from his unlocked car overnight. A second victim on Baker Mill Road reported that his home security cameras recorded an unknown man stealing his wallet from his truck at around 4 a.m. A victim on a nearby street, Spicer Court, also reported that someone stole a wallet and jewelry from his unlocked car overnight.
One of the suspects then reportedly used one of the stolen credit cards a the Lowes in Seaford to buy nearly $3,200 worth of equipment. Surveillance footage showed two suspects, identified as 41-year-old Roger Wilson and 32-year-old Jaquan Adkin, working together to make the purchase before leaving in Adkins’ pickup truck.
Wilson was arrested at his residence on June 18th and charged with unlawful use of a payment card over $1500, theft by false pretense over $1500, theft by false pretense over $1500, second degree conspiracy, two counts of theft under $1500, third degree conspiracy, and two counts of third degree criminal trespass. He was later released on his own recognizance.
Adkins was located at his residence by the Millsboro Police Department and Delaware Probation and Parole on Wednesday. He was reportedly wanted for another theft that took place overnight on June 7th, where he stole a purse from a car on Pine Road in Seaford. Adkins was charged with unlawful use of a payment card over $1500, theft by false pretense over $1500, theft under $1500 where the victim is 62 years of age or older, second degree conspiracy, three counts of theft under $1500, third degree conspiracy, and four counts of third degree criminal trespass. He was released on his own recognizance on these charges but was held at SCI on a $9,200 secured bond on a violation of probation capias.
