Pair arrested after stolen vehicle, handguns located in OC

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Two people are behind bars after a parking violation in Ocean City led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle and handguns.

At around 3 p.m. Tuesday, officers that were proactively on patrol in the 100 block of 3rd Street observed an SUV parked next to a red “no parking” curb. Officers subsequently ran the tag on the vehicle, but it did not come back as a valid tag. Officers then ran the vehicle identification number and learned that the vehicle was stolen during an armed carjacking on June 29th in Philadelphia. City Watch footage was utilized to determine when the vehicle was parked on the red curb and a description of the occupants, which was then broadcast to fellow law enforcement.

Two of the suspects returned to the vehicle while officers were still on the scene, identified as Jackson Rodriguez De Sena and Briana Hughes. Philadelphia Police informed OCPD that there was a handgun inside the vehicle when it was stolen in Philadelphia. Inside the vehicle, officers found a different handgun inside the passenger compartment, which was determined to have been stolen out of Reading, Pennsylvania.

Later that afternoon, officers were called to a hotel near 3rd Street for the recovery of a handgun. Officers found a handgun on the floor near a door frame, which was determined to be the handgun that was inside the vehicle when it was stolen from Philadelphia.

Rodriguez De Sena was charged with a list of theft and firearm offenses and is being held without bond.

Hughes was also held without bond on numerous theft and firearm charges.
