Marijuana sales surge at local dispensary

SALISBURY, Md.– A dispensary in Salisbury is making a name for itself as one of the top sellers of recreational marijuana in the state.

TerrAscend, the parent company of The Apothecarium in Salisbury, helped to contribute to over 10 million dollars of state-wide marijuana product sales this past holiday weekend.
The Apothecarium’s high expectations were exceeded as recreational marijuana sales spiked due to legalization.

Vice President of commercial operations Chantelle Elsner said the increase in sales were expected as recreational marijuana sales began on July 1st.

“The Salisbury location is in the third highest revenue store for the state of Maryland, so we obviously had high expectations for that location,” Elsner said.

The Apothecarium is gearing up to sell even more products this summer as more people flock to the state to take advantage of legalization.

“The TerrAscend team has operated in a number of other states that have converted to recreational,” Elsner said. “The big thing is, keep the register running, provide amazing customer service and never run out of product, and we checked the box on all three of those.”
