Lewes man arrested for aggravated menacing at hotel
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – A Lewes man was arrested Sunday evening following an incident at a Rehoboth Beach hotel.
Troopers were called to the Inn at Rehoboth Beach shortly after 8 p.m. for a reported aggravated menacing incident. At the scene, troopers met with a 31-year-old man, who reported that he was in the parking lot with his 4-year-old son and 7-month-old daughter when an unknown man approached them with a knife and threatened to kill him.
Troopers were able to locate the man, identified as 51-year-old Theodore Guajardo, across the street from the hotel with the knife sheathed on his hip. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with aggravated menacing, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Guajardo was held at SCI on a $5,550 secured bond.
