Good Morning Delmarva Explains the Dirtiest Beach Day of the Year

47ABC – Yesterday was 4th of July and millions around the country celebrated the holiday with BBQs, cookouts, and parties on the beach, but many fail to keep in mind the environmental impact.

Trash, plastic, and pollution has become a growing issue as they are left behind as waste on beaches and parks – affecting wildlife and the ocean. The number of plastic bottles, cans, bags, and straws left after the holiday is so large, July 5th has been named the “Dirtiest Beach Day of the Year.”

Surfrider Chapter Volunteer, Tim Carr, stopped by Good Morning Delmarva to discuss a Delaware beach cleanup and ways to combat the rising amount of waste left on our planet.
