47ABC – New social media platforms are popping up every day and their influence is growing especially with teens. According to reports, Gen-z is learning more about important topics such as fertility from social media more than they are from school.

Plus, 42 percent of teens reported learning most about fertility on apps like TikTok, Instagram, and Reddit.

Dr. Sahar Wertheimer, a physician and fertility expert, says Gen-z is receiving a lot of contradictory information on social media.

We spoke to Dr. Wertheimer about why teens may feel inclined to learn about reproductive health and fertility from social media. She also debunks some common social media myths on the topic.
