Dogs safely rescued from burning home in OC

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Two dogs were rescued by firefighters from a house fire in Ocean City.

Ocean City firefighters responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 1500 block of Shad Row on Wednesday. It was learned that there were multiple dogs trapped inside the home.

Firefighters worked to contain the fire while also searching the residence, successfully locating both dogs and checking them before handing them back over to their owners.

One firefighter reportedly sustained a medical emergency during the incident and was taken to Atlantic General Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Two additional firefighters sustained minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
