Cambridge PD investigating late-night gas station robbery
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Cambridge Police are asking for the public’s help following a robbery that happened late Sunday night.
At around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the Exxon located at 324 Sunburst Highway for a reported robbery. Store employees met with police and reported that a man had walked into the store, pointed a handgun at the employee at the counter, and demanded money. The employee handed over an unknown amount of cash and the subject fled on a bicycle across Sunburst Highway in the direction of Cedar Street/McDonalds.
The suspect was described as a man wearing black shorts, a black long-sleeve shirt, hooded sweatshirt or jacket with hood up, red face mask covering the entire face other than the eyes, red gloves, black shoes, and a dark colored baseball hat with a gold-colored sticker on the top of the hat brim. The suspect was also seen ride up to the store and leave on a light colored Beach Cruiser style bicycle.
At the time of the robbery, police say there was a vehicle that pulled up to a gas pump, with a man entering the store as the suspect was seen leaving the store.
