BREAKING: Cape Henlopen alum Zack Gelof promoted to the Majors

OAKLAND, Calif. – After a stellar first half in AAA, Cape Henlopen High School alum Zack Gelof has earned a promotion to play for the Oakland Athletics.

Gelof was Delaware Player of the Year in 2018, the same season he led the Vikings to the state baseball title.

The 2021 second round pick was batting .304 with 12 home runs and 20 stolen bases at AAA Las Vegas this season.

The A’s next game is Friday against the Minnesota Twins.
