Additional updates, improvements announced for Downtown Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. – The City of Salisbury has announced additional updates to the downtown area as Unity Square construction is underway.
Starting Monday, July 31st, one free hour of on-street parking will be offered during ticketing hours. Visitors will still need to register with the parking app Flowbird or at a pay station, but will not have to pay for the first hour. Hours two, three, and four will be billed at $2 per hour, with a maximum of four hours.
Ticketing will be lenient during this time of transition. Additionally, there is still free on-street and permit parking every day after 4 p.m. and on weekends and holidays, plus free two hour parking in the garage during the week. Parking remains free on Fridays through September 1st.
Officials have also announced the upcoming Downtown Ambassador Program. During the day, a team of multiple ambassadors will travel around the downtown area, helping visitors with anything they need while one stays in the parking garage to do the same. We’re told the goal of the ambassadors is Beautification and Hospitality in the Downtown corridor. At night, there will be a team that will focus on Hospitality and Safety, with one ambassador in the parking garage at all times and the other circulating throughout Downtown helping visitors.
