Wicomico County students get special treat with visit from former NFL star
SALISBURY, Md.- More than 100 Wicomico County students got a special treat Wednesday morning. It was a healthy meal and the chance to run football drills with a former NFL player.
It was all thanks to the American Dairy Association North East.
Students serve as ambassadors who participate in the Fuel Up to Play 60 program. That program promotes healthy eating and physical activity for youth.
Former Baltimore Ravens star Qadry Ismail tells us its important that kids start good health practices early. “I said guys one of the things you can do is help out your future self. It’s one thing to be motivated in the moment and get caught up in the really cool music and the stations that we have for you here but think about the future you. Think about the things and the activities you want to do for yourself as your grow older,” Ismail said.
“Even when you feel like you can’t workout sometimes or even go on a jog, just try to do your best. As long as you try your hardest there’s no regrets,” Sophomore Deion Finney said.
Another part of the students’ treat was learning more about milk production with a visit from Mayland’s Dairy Princess.
