Whitehaven Ferry back up and running, Upper Ferry being repaired

SALISBURY, Md. – Wicomico County officials have given an update on the Upper Ferry and Whitehaven Ferry.

The Whitehaven Ferry that went offline Saturday is now back up and running.

On Sunday, the recently refurbished Upper Ferry suffered a failure of a new part. The part needed to fix the problem is being overnighted, and the ferry will be pulled and repaired on Tuesday. Officials say there were a couple of parts available at the time of refurbishing that will also be installed at the same time.

Officials say the Upper Ferry will be back in the water and operating on Friday.
