University of Maryland Shore Medical Center placed on lockdown due to threat

EASTON, Md. – The University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton has been placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution following a social media threat Tuesday morning.

Police say a domestic-related threat was made to a specific employee through a social media app. They have confirmed that the person making the threat was not and is not in the Easton area.

Easton Police and Anne Arundel Police are conducting a joint investigation into the incident.

It is unknown when the lockdown will be lifted.
