Three arrested following four-month-long drug investigation in Dagsboro
DAGSBORO, Del. – A drug investigation in Dagsboro wrapped up on Thursday evening with three arrests.
The investigation began four months ago when detectives received information that drugs were being sold in the area of the 28000 block of East Diamond Drive. At around 5:30 p.m., detectives responded to the property to execute a search warrant. As detectives approached the property, they saw a black Chevrolet Tahoe driving away from the house and tried to stop the vehicle, but it continued driving away. Troopers were eventually able to stop the vehicle on Bunting Road, at which point they found approximately 25.13 grams of crack cocaine and approximately 195 baggies containing approximately 1.365 grams of suspected heroin in the driver’s possession. The driver, identified as 34-year-old Clarence Mobley, was subsequently taken into custody.
Detectives at the residence made contact with a second suspect in the driveway, identified as 41-year-old Wilbert Perkins. Perkins reportedly did not comply with troopers’ commands as he tried to walk away and empty his pockets. He was taken into custody and found in possession of approximately 10.28 grams of crack cocaine and approximately 117 baggies containing approximately 0.819 grams of suspected heroin.
28-year-old Devontay Jones was found in the backyard. Jones also did not comply with troopers’ commands and tried to empty his pockets and leave the scene. He was found in possession of approximately 4.07 grams of crack cocaine and approximately 115 baggies containing approximately 0.805 grams of suspected heroin. Troopers also searched the property and found two shotguns that Jones had access to, however, Jones is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms.
All three were charged and held at SCI on various bond amounts.
