Salisbury skate shop starts up GoFundMe for upgrades to address safety concerns
SALISBURY, Md.- The Lurking Class Skate Shop is now starting up a GoFundMe to help support structural upgrades.
The money will help address safety concerns like installing a fire exit and expanding the space. For now, the shop will have to limit crowd sizes for shows they host until those things happen.
Owner Bryan Whipple tells 47ABC those events are crucial to keeping their doors open and helping the skate community stay connected.
He also says he’s been touched by the overwhelming community support they’ve already received “We’ve raised $3,600 in less than 24 hours which I’m like still in shock about. This was my hail mary attempt into making this work,” Whipple said.
“I might have to close for some time, so anything that can help keep the doors open will help while I’m renovating the entire space.”
The shop has a goal to raise $15,000. If you’d like to show your support, we’ll have a link to the GoFundMe click here
