Salisbury man convicted in retrial of 2015 murder
SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been found guilty of first degree murder, use of a firearm in a crime of violence, and other related offenses in a retrial of a 2015 shooting incident.
On August 3, 2015, 29-year-old Delonte Bryant approached 21-year-old Dommeir Deshields in the roadway at the intersection of Anne Street and Railroad Avenue and shot him multiple times at close range. Deshields was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead later that day while undergoing surgery for his injuries.
The reasons for the incident remain unclear.
Bryant was previously convicted in August 2018. We’re told this trial was a retrial after the Maryland Appellate Court vacated the original jury verdict and ordered a new trial.
