Reminder: Plastic bag ban takes effect in Salisbury July 1st

Plastic Bags To Help Homeless

SALISBURY, Md. – There is just over a week left until the City of Salisbury’s plastic bag ban takes effect.

Single-use plastic bags are a large contributor to waste and pollution, and banning them city-wide is just one of many steps Salisbury has taken to make the city greener and cleaner.

The ban goes into effect on July 1st. Retailers will now charge a minimum 10-cent fee for paper bags at checkout.

The city will also be giving out limited free usable bags; more info can be found here.
